ANZAC DAY AT EASTER ALL BREEDS CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

Tuesday the 26th April 2011.  It was raining when we left home at 6.00am to travel  the 160 kms to the Bill Spilstead Complex for Canine Affairs on the outskirts of Sydney.
As we travelled down the F3 the weather decided to open up the heavens and let all the water that ever lived in the sky descended on us. It teamed.  I was thinking of my warm bed, snuggled up with a cup of tea and watching telly instead of crawling along in the downpour. But I'd made myself a commitment and was determined to see it out. The worst we could do would be turn around and head home, so, on we pushed, let it do its worst.
We arrived at the Erskine Park Complex around 8.00am, set up our umbrella, unpacked the chairs and took Lotti the Jack for a look around.
The 3 months old Baby Puppy Dog must have thought he was in DOGS WONDERLAND with all the new smells, sounds and sights of 1750 other dogs.
At 8.30 am a very stirring  Anzac Day Service was held in honour of the fallen.
Well the time came for his appearance  in the show ring. The excitement got the better of the little fellow and he did his little puppy trick of wanting to everything except what he was supposed to do. Not even the smell of his favourite food cabanossi would distract him his puppy pursuits. A better behaved little puppy was awarded  1st place and well deserved too! Still the experience will do him the world of good.
The rain had eased and we headed of back home. A great morning for all of us.
